Join the HEJ-FIT Fitness Challenge at IKEA Tampines for a Chance to Win a Volvo EX30

IKEA's First Fitness Challenge

IKEA is set to host its inaugural fitness challenge, dubbed HEJ-FIT, at IKEA Tampines, Singapore, on September 19 and 20, 2026, from 9 AM to 8:30 PM each day. This exciting event is open to all IKEA Family members, where teams will compete in five physical challenge stations.

Win a Volvo EX30 Electric Car

Teams of two (one male and one female) will tackle various exercises at each station. The winning team will take home the electric Volvo EX30, a truly enticing prize, especially as electric vehicles gain popularity.

The Challenge Experience

Having never participated in such fitness challenges before, the author felt a mix of excitement and nerves upon signing up. At the first station, the author and their teammate had to complete 1,000 meters on the SkiErg and perform 100 repetitions with a 20kg KUGGIS box. They were allowed to exchange exercises, which helped them recover better after each turn.

The author found the first station to be the most challenging, likely due to it being their first time using the SkiErg. The second station was more familiar, involving a 1,000-meter run and 100 repetitions with 10kg HUGAD Thrusters. Breaking up the running distance made it easier to manage pressure and reach their goals.

A Unique Experience

At the final station, they had to perform a transport exercise with a FRAKTA bag and a 100kg Volvo load. Each side weighed about 15kg, making the total load 30kg. Interestingly, this even weight distribution felt much more manageable compared to the KUGGIS at the previous station.

Tips for Success

If you want to participate, remember that in this challenge, those not exercising can't relax; they need to stay close to their partner. During the Volvo challenge, teams will need to load MALM boxes into the Volvo trunk, open and close it, and then unload. Working together as a pair makes everything easier.
