Welcome to Julaiha Muslim Restaurant

Located on MacPherson Road, Julaiha Muslim Restaurant is a 24-hour haven for fans of Muslim Indian cuisine. Here, diners can indulge in over 50 dishes ranging from various types of prata and briyani to fried noodles and even Western options. The restaurant is particularly known for its Chicken Kuthu Prata, Chicken Murtabak, and Nasi Pattaya, though some chicken dishes may vary in quality.

Menu Highlights

The menu at Julaiha Muslim Restaurant is a vibrant mix of familiar Indian dishes. Each item is displayed on signs within the restaurant, making it easy for customers to make their selections. Notably, the restaurant also offers Western dishes like fried chicken. Prices are very reasonable, making it a great choice for late-night meals.

A Culinary Experience at Julaiha

I kicked off my meal with the Dum Briyani Chicken (S$8). This dish features a generous bowl of briyani accompanied by chicken and served with a side of curry. The briyani rice was subtly fragrant, and when paired with the curry, it became even more flavorful.

Next up was the Maggi with Chicken (S$8), which is also worth trying. The noodles had a beautiful red hue, stir-fried with vegetables and chicken, topped with a fried egg. While the chicken was a bit dry and not as flavorful as I had hoped, the noodles were delicious, not too salty or greasy.

The Nasi Pattaya (S$7.50) was one of the standout dishes. The fried rice was wrapped in a thin layer of egg and drizzled with ketchup. This dish was not only tasty but also included tiny shrimp, which pleasantly surprised me.

Prata and Murtabak Delights

Julaiha Muslim Restaurant is famous for its prata, and I sampled both the Plain Roti Prata (S$1.20) and the Cheese Egg Prata (S$3.50). The prata wasn't as crispy as I expected, but it was still delightful when paired with the mildly spicy and rich curry. The Cheese Egg Prata had an egg and a slice of cheese, creating a wonderful combination.

The Murtabak Chicken (S$9) was small but packed with filling, rich in chicken flavor. It's a must-try for murtabak enthusiasts.

The Unique Kuthu Prata

The Chicken Kuthu Prata (S$10) piqued my curiosity. Made from pieces of dough prata stir-fried with eggs, onions, and vegetables, this dish was not only intriguing but also delicious. Although the chicken was slightly dry, the flavors and spices were spot on.

Overall Impressions

My dining experience at Julaiha Muslim Restaurant was truly satisfying and reasonably priced. With generous portions and a diverse menu, this place is ideal for night owls. If you find yourself in MacPherson and are looking for a spot to enjoy a late dinner, make sure to check out Julaiha Muslim Restaurant!
