If you’re a food lover with a passion for satay, Kwong Satay in Geylang is sure to impress. This gem is one of the few places in Singapore that serves satay made from pork belly, alongside traditional options like lamb and chicken. Dining Experience at Kwong Satay

I visited the restaurant in the evening and was lucky enough not to have to wait long. However, they were clearly busy with a lot of delivery orders, a testament to the special flavors of their satay.

Starting with the lamb satay (S$0.80 each), I noticed the vibrant color of the meat, which stood out compared to the others. While the portion was generous for the price, I found the meat a bit tough, not as tender as I had hoped. Nevertheless, the marinade was rich and had just the right amount of sweetness.

The accompanying peanut sauce was delightful, with a chunky texture that made for an interesting eating experience. While it wasn’t the most tender cut I’ve ever had, I thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful bits of fat nestled between the meat pieces.

I then tried the regular pork satay (S$0.80), and to my surprise, it was just as delicious as the pork belly. I kept going back for more because the flavor was simply irresistible. If you haven’t tried the Ketupat (S$0.80) here, you might regret it. These rice cakes wrapped in pandan leaves offer a fragrant and gentle aroma.

In addition to the satay, the restaurant also serves BBQ chicken wings (S$1.60 each) and Banana Leaf Otah (S$1 each). The Otah was quite spicy, and I wished they had used more fish instead of filler.
