Discover two Iberostar hotels in Mallorca: from relaxation at Es Trenc to family-friendly activities at Albufera Playa.
Kickstarting Your Vacation in Mallorca
Upon entering the Iberostar Selection Es Trenc, I was greeted by a refreshing floral scent, ushering in a vacation I had eagerly anticipated. This was the first stop on my journey to experience two Iberostar hotels—a group trip that included two nights at a serene boutique hotel by the beach and three nights at a family-friendly resort in the north.
Discovering Iberostar Selection Es Trenc
Iberostar Selection Es Trenc is located in Colònia de Sant Jordi, near the pristine Platja des Trenc, the largest undeveloped beach in the area. With 198 elegantly designed rooms, this hotel is perfect for couples or adult travelers seeking relaxation. Although it’s not exclusively for adults, the atmosphere here is tranquil, almost as if it were an adults-only retreat.
Each room boasts ocean views, with options like the Panoramic Sea-View Suite and the Wellness Sea-View Double. I loved waking up to the sound of the waves each morning and appreciated the natural ingredients used in their bath products.
Innovation and Sustainability
The hotel is committed to sustainability, utilizing 100% renewable energy and furnishings crafted in Mallorca. Notably, each room features a glass water bottle instead of plastic ones, encouraging guests to reuse. The bathing products are also made from clean ingredients, free from sulfates and parabens, minimizing plastic waste.
Daily breakfast offers a delightful blend of Spanish and international dishes, while dinner at the Salivent restaurant takes you on a Mediterranean culinary journey, featuring fresh seafood. I enjoyed local fish paired with vegetables and a Basque cheesecake for dessert.

Wellness and Exploration
The hotel's spa is one of its main amenities, albeit quite basic with treatments offered on a dedicated floor. I indulged in the Signature Flor de Sal d’Es Trenc treatment, using salt from the nearby salt flats for exfoliation followed by a half-body massage.
Interestingly, after the treatment, my group toured the Salinas d’es Trenc, a famous salt producer on the island, where we learned about the salt-making process and brought home a jar of delicious salt.
Creating Family Memories at Iberostar Selection Albufera Playa
For our last three nights in Mallorca, our group stayed at Iberostar Selection Albufera Playa, a beachfront hotel in Playa de Muro, known for its long, shallow beaches that are safe for young children. The hotel caters to all family needs with a variety of activities and amenities, creating a lively atmosphere filled with children.
The hotel is divided into two areas: Playa and Park. The Park area is family-oriented with 280 rooms, while Playa boasts 260 suite and double rooms. Here, guests can enjoy a plethora of activities, including seven pools, a spa, a Star Camp for kids, and restaurants offering a range of dishes from Spanish tapas to Greek cuisine.
Getting Around and Exploring Mallorca
Both Iberostar hotels are about a 45-minute drive from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI). If you plan to explore more, renting a car is advisable, as Mallorca is quite large and has a hilly terrain. Driving from east to west takes around 60 to 90 minutes. The island is not only famous for its beautiful beaches but also offers a variety of other experiences.
Joining a boat tour is also a fantastic option for sightseeing, as my group enjoyed an exciting two-hour trip at sea, taking in the beauty of the unspoiled beaches. All of this added up to wonderful memories of Mallorca.
