I recently enjoyed an exciting trip to Bangkok via Paris. Let's explore the Turkish Airlines lounge at Bangkok airport—a perfect place to unwind before your flight.

Journey to Bangkok via Paris

I just had an impressive trip to Bangkok with a layover in Paris. On this journey, I flew business class with Thai Airways from Bangkok (BKK) to Milan (MXP). Before boarding, I had the chance to explore some of the Star Alliance lounges in Bangkok, and today I’m excited to share my experience at the Turkish Airlines lounge.

Location of the Turkish Airlines Lounge

The Turkish Airlines lounge is situated in the International Terminal D, on the third floor, conveniently close to gate D8. This location is quite handy as many international airlines operate from this area, making it easy to find.

Operating Hours

This lounge is open 24/7, which is fantastic since the airport welcomes travelers around the clock. In comparison, the Thai Airways lounge is only open for 21 hours each day, so Turkish Airlines definitely has the edge when it comes to accessibility.

Access Requirements

To enter the Turkish Airlines lounge, you need to be flying in business or first class with any Star Alliance airline, or be a Gold member. One downside I noticed is that the lounge no longer allows entry for those with a Priority Pass due to new airport regulations aimed at maximizing profits.

Lounge Design and Layout

The Turkish Airlines lounge features a spacious layout divided into several areas. Upon entering, a left turn leads you to a section with cream-colored leather seats. In the center, there’s a dining area with comfortable seating.

Cuisine at the Lounge

While the menu isn’t particularly remarkable, it’s decent enough for a light snack. I found a variety of beverages including soft drinks, juices, coffee, and tea. As for the food, there were options like salads, sandwiches, and a few hot dishes like chicken soup and sausages. However, I generally avoid eating at places where the food looks like it’s been sitting out for a while.

Bathrooms and Shower Facilities

The bathrooms within the lounge are very clean and well-maintained. There are also a few private shower rooms, though I didn’t use them during this visit.

Free Massage Service

One of the most delightful features of the Turkish Airlines lounge is the complimentary 15-minute massage service. Anyone with access to the lounge can request this service, although it is limited in availability.

Conclusion

The Turkish Airlines lounge in Bangkok meets all the necessary standards, though it doesn’t stand out in any particular way. If you’re looking for a place to relax before your flight, it’s a reasonable choice, especially since the atmosphere is quite peaceful. While it may lack unique features, the tranquility and comfort are definitely a big plus.
