As airline loyalty programs continue to evolve, many travelers are considering a change in partners. I've previously mentioned that those loyal to American AAdvantage might want to explore Alaska Atmos Rewards. This option has become even more appealing with the recent updates to the Atmos Rewards program set for 2025.

Initially, I hesitated to make the switch because I was close to reaching a loyalty tier with American. However, new information indicates that by 2026, I won’t be earning any tier status with American, while I have a strong chance of attaining a higher tier with Alaska Atmos Rewards.

My Flight Achievements with American AAdvantage

As of now, I hold the Executive Platinum status with American AAdvantage, having accumulated a total of 811 loyalty points. To reach Executive Platinum, one needs around 200,000 points, which means I will likely be downgraded this year.
