Instead of the usual crowded tourist spots, I teamed up with Intrepid to uncover lesser-known corners of Spain, Croatia, and Norway. Visiting places like Vis Island in Croatia, with its ancient walls and stunning Stiniva Beach, felt like stepping into another world, far removed from the hustle and bustle of big cities.

Traveling with them, I realized that tourism can benefit not just the visitors but also the communities we visit. For example, Via Transilvanica in Romania recently opened an additional 170 km of walking trails, setting the stage for unforgettable journeys.
Never Enough Time in Italy
During my Premium Tuscany journey, I spent a bit more time in the charming town of San Gimignano. Here, I not only admired the medieval architecture but also had the chance to savor wine and olive oil at a local family-run agriturismo. The extended stay allowed me to immerse myself in the community and gain a deeper understanding of the local culture.

When visiting Croatia, I found that timing is everything. More and more travelers are opting for off-peak times, and Intrepid is adjusting their schedules to avoid the busiest periods. They took me to Dubrovnik in the evening, when the crowds had thinned, allowing me to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful atmosphere.
Sailing Among the Greek Islands
My trip to Greece was truly unforgettable. Instead of crowded large ships, I opted for a small boat to explore islands like Skiathos and Skopelos. The experience of connecting with locals and immersing myself in their way of life was incredible, unlike anything I had experienced on typical tours.

Norway is an awe-inspiring destination with breathtaking natural scenery. During the Northern Norway Explorer trip, I stayed in traditional rorbu cabins, deeply rooted in the local fishing culture. This experience allowed me to truly immerse myself in the local way of life, offering a much deeper experience compared to staying in large hotels.
