Delicious Seafood by the Sea: Discovering 11 Eateries in Islamorada

Just a short drive of about an hour and a half south of Miami will take you to Islamorada, a place I fall in love with every time I explore the Florida Keys. If you’re making your way from Miami to Key West, you’ll definitely pass through this charming town. And trust me, stopping here for a meal is a decision you won’t want to overlook. Every restaurant is right on the water, and the food is simply amazing.

Fantastic Dining Spots

Lorelei Restaurant & Cabana Bar: This is the first place I head to whenever I visit Islamorada. The simple plastic seating may not impress at first, but the food and drinks are fantastic. Live music plays every evening, and the sunset views are breathtaking. If you want to snag a table with a sunset view, make sure to arrive early since they don’t take reservations.

Wahoo’s Seafood Bar and Grill: Wahoo’s is arguably one of the best seafood spots in the Florida Keys. I love sitting outside on one of the two waterfront decks. Their Lobster Scampi is extremely popular, and once you try it, you’ll never forget it.

Hungry Tarpon – Robbie’s: Robbie’s Marina is famous for feeding tarpon fish. Before or after having fun with the fish, you can stop by Hungry Tarpon for breakfast or dinner. The menu offers a wide range of delicious options, perfect for families with kids.

Unique Culinary Experiences

Islamorada Fish Company: Established in 1948, this place is renowned for its fresh seafood and famous fish sandwich. You can also purchase fresh seafood to take home or order online for delivery right to your door.

Lazy Days: Lazy Days sits right on the beach with stunning views. They serve seafood dishes and traditional Keys-style fare. You can even bring in your catch of the day for them to prepare just the way you like it.

Square Grouper: Located in the Islamorada harbor area, this restaurant is open only from Wednesday to Sunday. Its menu is unique and creative, especially the lounge on the third floor, which offers an ideal view for watching the sunset.

Must-Visit Restaurants

Pierre’s: This restaurant boasts classic West African architecture and is situated right on the bay, offering an upscale dining experience. It’s the perfect blend of French cuisine and stunning scenery.

Marker 88: Established in 1967, Marker 88 is an iconic stop along the coastal route. In addition to their delicious seafood, they’re famous for their homemade Key Lime Pie and often have live music during sunset.

Atlantic’s Edge at Cheeca Lodge: This is the main restaurant of Cheeca Lodge, offering a rich dining experience that spans from Keys to Caribbean flavors.

Morada Bay Beach Cafe: If you’re looking for a relaxed meal right on the sand, Morada Bay Beach Cafe is the perfect choice, serving award-winning dishes.

Hog Heaven Sports Bar & Grill: Looking for a lively bar right on the water? Hog Heaven is the place to be. They’re well-known for their BBQ, chicken wings, seafood, and delicious burgers.
